Fluffy white snow falling as I start thinking of bedtime. Fluffy white snow in the lights from the christmas lights hanging from the eves.
Perfect for dumping the Ginger cat into!
But she got her annual snowbanking this morning, so I didn't do it. (And she was quite indignant about the snowbanking too.) |

Went to visit ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) talkisdead, Rowan and Sybilla tonight after they got back into town. After all they had been through they got stuck going up their own driveway. He did get it up the drive after salting it, so newperspectives, ldybz3, and faganthepure brought them dinner and visited the night away watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
It is a different, fun way to spend an evening! |

| Games |

Tonight was a gaming night. Went bowling with faganthepure's family. There were 10 of us bowling. I won the first game and bowled over 100 in all three. Fagan won the second beating me by the same three pins I beat him by the first time. Then the third game, ldybz3 won. She beat us both!
Now I have to point out that she had bumper gaurds up on the lane she was on...
Then we came back to newperspectives house and we all played a game called Dominion with her room mates. It was a very fun time tonight. I love spending time with my daughter. She will always be my little girl. |

| Dinner |

Christmas Dinner was done with me in mind by [Bad username: newsperspectives]. It was meat with meat and more meat. Nearly everything contained bacon, even the corn and potatoes. The shrimp was just shrimp and that was fine. It was all so very yummy, espcecially the bacon wrapped sausage!
Also went up in the Arch today. I had not been up since they built the new ballpark. The view in the park is amazing. And the arch was swaying more today than it ever had before when I was up there. That was fun! They also had a baseball exhibit up in the museum on St Louis as the baseball gateway to the west.
Now we are going bowling and then maybe other stuff depending on how tired people are. |

| The advantages of snow, then rain |

The advantage is that in this part of the world, lots of rain on top of snow and frozen ground means high water. Which means waterfalls are fuller than normal.
And for those who know me well, that means my photography takes an even harder turn towards water subjects.
Hiking today I think I got several decent shots - needed a tripod, but I got lucky with some weak sunlight at one point and I think I may have a truely spectacular shot.
Too bad I can't make a living as a professional landscape photographer. |

| More Christmas |

It was a good Christmas, very different, but good. I had a wonderful time today with faganthepure's family. I was also able to make something good happen. One of his relatives is a Marine and could not be there. They wanted to video chat with him. Fagan's mom had no wireless in her house and the system they watned to use was a new netbook. It was an older setup but I was able to hook my Mac to it, get it to give me the internet connection and then use my Mac to rebroadcast it. So they could bring the whole family in. I was glad to be of such help. There was also good food and fun game playing.
Now I am at newperspectives house. She gave me my Christmas present. A new fencing mask with a jaguar head! It is just awesome. Picture will be posted soon with other Christmas pictures. Now we are going to snuggle in and watch the Muppet DVD that I gave her.
In between there was near disaster when ldybz3 took sgtgwn to the airport and got stuck in traffic. There was a major pile up right before the airport exit. She got her there 40 minutes before flight time and Jen and Sean flew to Texas.
Now I will spend the next three days down here in the St Louis area doing things with family and friends. |

| Quick Christmas Notes |

Drive to St Louis area went well last night. Christmas morning was nice at the Coode home. I am now at faganthepure's Mom's home for dinner, which is delayed a bit from the original plan. ldybz3 barely got people to the airport due to a pile up on the interstate in front of her.
Got the server restarted at work so that is good. I did not have to make anyone go in on Christmas to push a button.

It's been six years of Christmasses on my Livejournal. Six years! Wheeeee! And i've loved every minute of it. So to all of you, whatever you celebrate or don't celebrate this time of year - have a merry holiday, and wonderful new year!

| Christmas Eve |

Just finishing up celebrating Christmas Eve with my family. Ann, my step-mom for those that do not know, was only going to make a little light food this year. And yet we are all stuffed and there is food still left over. Always seems to work that way. Gifts have been exchanged and a very good time is being had. Soon I will head to St Louis with ldybz3 and faganthepure as well as Sean. We will stop in Macomb and pick up sgtgwn as Jen and Sean fly out from St Louis tomorrow to Jen's family. We will stay tonight with Fagan's Dad and then go to his Mom's house tomorrow. |

| Christmas Break |

I love spending holidays with my folks.
The mountains of North Carolina are beautiful, lovely to hike, and as is so typical with me I can only really relax when I'm not actually at home. As I'm writting this I'm looking at the ice fog lifting out of the valley and the birds in the trees. Saw a piliated woodpecker this morning, just perched in a tree going "What the heck is with all this SNOW!"
Yes - they got 10" of snow last Friday. So hiking this year is a little differnt. Kind of like walking through sand. But the sledding is great! We have pictures of Miss R clinging to my back and to Dad's back running down someone's driveway to their lot, the snow has a crust to it that makes the sledding fast and we all crashed without damage at the bottom.
As is typical, we'll get out and about today and enjoy whatever we happen to decide to do. I think picnic in the snow is being contemplated - my Mom has never let little things like weather stop what her plans would be!

| Christmas Eve |

It is Christmas Eve and I have ldybz3 and faganthepure here!! We have had a good night. They got here late, a shock I know. So I took them out to dinner at Jorges the Crooks which is a nice place here in Quincy. It was wine Wednesday so I got them one of the $10 specials. Good times.
When we got back to the apartment I had to remotely fix Sean's computer. I have Windows installed on it and he had broken it already. Then Beez got out her computer. It has no power. I have not been able to make it work yet :(
Now we have stayed up way late just doing stuff and it is past bedtime.
